What is Exhaust Air Heat Pump Technology?
An Exhaust Air Heat Pump (EAHP) is an internally located unit that recycles extracted air from a dwelling. The extraction method is centrilised mechanical extract ventilation (cMEV) or mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR).
The energy available in this air is transferred to a water based circuit similar to a conventional boiler and is used to generate both central heating (CH) and domestic hot water (DHW). CH is provided via UFH or radiators and DHW is stored in a cylinder.
